Family Trip in Belgrade, Serbia - Three days in Belgrade - Kiss From The World

Three days in Belgrade

The Serbian capital, Belgrade, is a beautiful picturesque town. Its image is painted by the Danube and Savas rivers. Belgrade is a culture town with beautiful buildings, many attractions and many parks.

We visited the city  for a weekend a few days ago and we loved it!  For our stay we chose the Heritage Hotel, which is approximately two kilometers from the City Fortress. The hotel is located in a quiet area and it offers plenty parking space. The rooms are spacious and clean, while the staff were always smiling!

The first night we visited the pedestrian zone of Prince Michael (Knez Mihailova), which is always full of people. We walked and admired the small paved streets, the windows and the rest of the people walking like us in the pedestrian street. This stroll was really relaxing!

For our evening we chose the Tribeca Restaurant, on the pedestrian zone of Prince Michael (Knez Mihailova) and we were really excited with our choice. The place is nicely decorated, while the food is very good. As for the service, the staff were kind and quick. Finishing our food we enjoyed a glass of wine and we decided that the time had come to get some rest.

The next day we started with a very good breakfast at the Heritage Hotel. After the breakfast we were ready for the city sightseeing. Our first stop was the city’s Fortress. We walked, we enjoyed the shade of the trees, we took photos and then we decided to have a coffee at Cafe & Factory at the pedestrian zone of Prince Michael (Knez Mihailova).

During the Belgrade Sightseeing by Bus we saw the most important monuments of the city, its largest part and we learned a lot about the history of the area. It was really a beautiful experience.

After we got off the bus, it was time to eat. This time we chose the traditional Serbian restaurant Dva Jelena. It was really the right decision. The food was excellent, and the service also! It is one of the city’s finest restaurants! We enjoyed excellent food and very good wine….

In the evening, we went back tired to the hotel and slept until the morning. We woke up rested and refreshed. The program of the day was to visit the Belgrade Zoo before we left the city in afternoon. So we did!

Belgrade Zoo is great and it takes several hours to see everything. The children of the group were impressed with the variety of animals. Personally, of course, for several moments I felt distracted by watching wild animals behind bars. I understand that most people are happy to visit a zoo, but I always have mixed feelings and deeply in my heart I wish these animals could live  freely in their natural environment …

Having spent almost three hours in the Belgrade Zoo, we walked back to Knez Mihailova pedestrian street and drank a last coffee, enjoying the vibrancy and color of the city!

Belgrade achieved to charm us with its distinct identity, the courtesy of its inhabitants and the liveliness of this city, we felt beautiful and decided to come back soon…
