Greece is closely tied to the sea and Greeks from antiquity include fish and seafood in their diet. From antiquity to the present day, Greeks love the fresh fish and the delicious seafood snacks!

The Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea) restaurant in Thessaloniki is famous for its excellent dishes. It is well known not only to the Greeks, but also to the foreign visitors of northern Greece, precisely because of the fresh ingredients they use and the delicious recipes they serve.

A few weeks ago I visited the restaurant. It is located by the sea, its premises are luxurious and spotless and the staff is very polite and willing to serve.

The dishes they serve are not only very tasty, but they also have a great set-up, which is essential in my opinion, since first we need to satisfy our vision and then we have to satisfy our palate!

The people from Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea) restaurant know how to satisfy both our eyes and our palate. Their tastes are authentic, they have a peculiarity and they definitely offer freshness and quality! The appearance of dishes suffices to perceive that the owner of the restaurant does not like the semi-meters and he is passionate for the perfection of the dishes he personally prepares!

The search for the right ingredients, their non-negotiable quality, the constant evolution in the cooking of each recipe, and the owner’s love for what he does, is obvious on every dish they serve at the Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea) restaurant. Nothing happens at random!

It is obvious that this passion has led the Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea )restaurant to a high gastronomic level ! A meal or a dinner in the Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea) restaurant is really a special and unique experience!

That’s why the restaurant is very popular both to Greeks and foreigners! Because when we decide to eat in a restaurant, we all pay great attention to the quality of the materials, to the taste and to the service. The Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea ) restaurant provides these three items to its customers!

It is difficult to form a list with all the dishes they serve in the Mavri Thalassa (Black Sea) restaurant, but it is suggested to try among others:

Sole filet with oil and lemon
