Since I am currently in Chile, it is only appropriate to begin the blogging articles with something Chilean, right?
Every weekend I hike up the mountain near my home here in Santiago and see many vendors selling this delectable beverage called, "Mote con Huesillos." Those of you who know me well, know that I enjoy my fair share of cocktails and wine labels, however, this beverage is alcohol free, I promise!
Mote con Huesillos is made from peaches (huesillos) that are cooked in sugar, water, and cinnamon. Once the peaches cool, they are mixed with husked wheat (mote).
While this beverage is quite sweet, I have to say that after my weekend hikes it is quite refreshing to enjoy after a very long hike in the scorching Santiago sun! Enjoy!
