Eating local in Tamarindo

When visiting Tamarindo, I always make a point to ask the locals about their favorite spots to eat and dine with their families.

For a month I heard about La Bodega which offers amazing organic breakfast and lunch. I decided it was time to take my girl friend Kaitlyn there for lunch and we’re thankful we did.

We we’re promptly greeted by Frank the owner and he made us feel at home right away. It was refreshing sitting inside and enjoying local organic juices while talking with the owner about Labodega’s story.

We both ordered sandwiches which are made fresh directly in front of you. Every day they offer 3 or 4 sandwich options and several vegetarian options for you to enjoy. The sandwiches change daily so be sure to check in often to see the amazing variety.

After enjoying our first meal, we said good-bye knowing that we would be back soon to try the breakfast. We quickly became great friends with Frank because of his amazing personality, awesome internet (best in town), and of course great food.

Traveling can sometimes be lonely when you’re in a foreign country and don’t know anyone. Frank was kind enough to invite us to American Thanksgiving in Tamarindo with him and his friends.

We joined Frank at another restaurant in town and were thrilled to find lots of local business owners that were friendly and very welcoming. We enjoyed a night full of great food, lots of laughs, and good company.

We’re thankful for Frank at La Bodega for offering us his amazing food and friendship. It’s guys like Frank that make traveling so great.

I have been working in the tourism industry for 12 years and have been traveling with my girl friend Kaitlyn for a few years now. We do a lot of amazing things in Costa Rica but are currently traveling else where.
