Talbot Hotel Carlow

Drop into the Talbot Carlow

On my travels back from Dublin this week, I popped into to The Talbot Hotel Carlow. As I am very familiar with the group’s two other hotels, Talbot Wexford and The Stillorgan Park, I wanted to see like King Lir, if the third daughter (so to speak) matched up to the expectations of the other two sisters.

The first challenge was to find a parking space which is a positive, showing how busy the hotel is, eventually found one, girls at the desk very friendly and helpful but not over intrusive. One box ticked for me.

The bar area is spacious with nice background music adding to the atmosphere. In the same area is the restaurant which has a great selection of food and as I have come to expect from the sister hotels, great choices served by friendly staff and piping hot which is so important.

Upstairs they have a lovely open area with couches for meetings, or just to sit back and have a drink. I really like the upstairs area which is spacious, spotless and serene.

Bedrooms boutique style, suitable for corporate and families.

Great leisure centre.
