One More Semester Completed, Another Year Ended!

Ah! The sigh of relief as I successfully finished my second full semester of grad school. It was the busiest four months of my life, especially these first two weeks in December. The thought of how I would accomplish everything in such a short span of time daunted me but as each day passed, I did as much as I could in the effort to maximize every speck of time I had. Fortunately, I managed to get just enough sleep to keep me energized and alert the following day and no all-nighters were necessary to the fate of my graduate career. Now my winter break has begun and I’m still not off the hook yet. Other life tasks consume my life, all of which are essential to my future prosperity. But I really couldn’t have it any other way.

As this year draws to a speedy close, I give thanks for all that took place to make me a better human being. The enriching education I have received, meaningful friendships formed, and the life experience of growing into responsible adulthood have all made 2013 a profitable year for me. I am certainly not the same person I was nearly 365 days ago nor am I in the same place. Life is truly about progression, advancement and becoming the best form of you in this world. Indeed, we find change and novelty hard to embrace but there is no denying the fact that we need it in order to move in the direction of our dreams and goals. We cannot fulfill our purpose in life unless we willingly adapt to and accept change.

Thus, I exhort my friends, fans and family to keep pursuing your destiny, whatever it may be. If you have not discovered it yet then continue seeking and you will surely gain the revelation of the impact you are meant to make on this earth. We were all born for impact, and to affect the lives of others in such a way that one’s influence will be the greatest memory of his or her journey on this planet. So as we bid farewell to another year, let us prepare ourselves for an even mightier year ahead. I wholeheartedly believe that anything is possible when you know who you are and the indomitable power that lives within the core of you. Spirit.

COUNTRY

Travel is not just what I do but it is who I am. When I first traveled abroad in high school as a foreign exchange student, little did I know that it would serve as the threshold of a lifetime interest in globetrotting. Now nearly 10 years later, I have lived in four countries and plan to do much more traveling in years to come. The world of teaching English has given me incredible opportunity to engage in cultural anthropology and I certainly can't get enough of the language learning process as a polyglot in the making. My personal website is currently under construction but I also maintain a micro-blog on facebook that enables me to share my insights and experiences with my ever-growing following. All in all, I am most proud to be known as a global citizen, a reference I accept with humility and honor. Blogging is rad! Many thanks (muchas gracias, feichang ganxie, grazie un millon, fala menogu) to KFTW for allowing me this platform to connect with the world and vice versa. St. Augustine said it best: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page."
