The Last Bookstore is a True Gem!

Why do you go to a bookstore? To look for books, right? At The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles, you will do more than seek out your favorite author’s new novel. You will find yourself exploring, particularly the second floor (better known as the Labyrinth).

I learned about The Last Bookstore from a “10 Most Inspiring Bookshops in the World” list. The minute I walked through the door I could understand why. Expect to find open spaces, high ceilings, and plenty of spots to get comfy. They also host special events, so check the calendar before you head out.

While I have been to many incredible bookstores, this one is definitely the most astonishing. I felt like an actual character in a Harry Potter novel as I wandered around with eyes wide open. If it’s your first time visiting, I suggest making this your “last” stop, as it will be difficult to tear yourself away.

P.S. Don’t forget your camera!

I have been living in Chicago for the past 7 years until a recent return to my hometown of Madison, WI. For the past 3 years, I was a freelance writer for the Chicago Tribune. It started with a blog about Couchsurfing and led to a second blog about events and venues in Chicago.I enjoyed writing so much that I started my own blog and travel/leisure Facebook page. I travel as much as possible and can't wait to write about it when I get home. My current addiction is Europe. I can't get enough and explore new countries every year.
