Hanging Out at the Travel & Adventure Show

For the first time ever, the national Travel & Adventure show came to Philadelphia the weekend of March 21-22, making its temporary home at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. One-day tickets were only nine dollars for patrons who used the social media promo code, and a free shuttle service was provided from the Ikea parking lot in South Philly. A rock climbing wall, scuba diving tank, and an area for “Segway” riding included some of the attractions for attendees to enjoy.

But the following features were also found at this event:

Global Beats Stage (Italian and Cuban cultural performances)

Destination Theater (India and Cuba)

Travel Channel theater (Samantha Brown, Travel Channel host, & Patricia Schultz, author of 1000 Places to See Before You Die, both graced the stage)

Cooking Demonstration (Taste of Travel segment)

Wide variety of local, national and international vacation/travel vendors

It was not possible to explore all that this interesting show had to offer without entering a few travel raffle and sweepstake contests. Being at an event like this suddenly made me realize that there’s simply so much to see [and experience] in the world and yet so little time [or so it seems]. The world is truly yours and mine’s for the traveling! Visit Travel & Adventure Show – Philadelphia, to get a clearer picture of this spectacular event for the wanderlust in heart. 😉

Travel is not just what I do but it is who I am. When I first traveled abroad in high school as a foreign exchange student, little did I know that it would serve as the threshold of a lifetime interest in globetrotting. Now nearly 10 years later, I have lived in four countries and plan to do much more traveling in years to come. The world of teaching English has given me incredible opportunity to engage in cultural anthropology and I certainly can't get enough of the language learning process as a polyglot in the making. My personal website is currently under construction but I also maintain a micro-blog on facebook that enables me to share my insights and experiences with my ever-growing following. All in all, I am most proud to be known as a global citizen, a reference I accept with humility and honor. Blogging is rad! Many thanks (muchas gracias, feichang ganxie, grazie un millon, fala menogu) to KFTW for allowing me this platform to connect with the world and vice versa. St. Augustine said it best: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page."
