Top Florida Beach Hotels in West Palm Beach, Panama City, Clearwater Beach, and Sarasota

Perhaps you’ve been to Miami for its beaches and nightlife, but there’s a lot more of Florida you need to explore. If you’re missing summer and need a warm beach vacation while discovering more of Florida’s nature and attractions, book a hotel in one of the great beach cities below!

Wildlife and Luxury in West Palm Beach

Explore the swanky side of West Palm Beach while walking and shopping in the downtown area, but also visit a city attraction most tourists don’t know about — McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary. The tour guides here are very knowledgeable about the animals kept in the sanctuary, which includes species from birds and snakes to lions and tigers. The sanctuary takes good care of the animals as well. Keep up the nature exploration at the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Sanctuary or with a walk around Okeeheelee Park. Despite its upscale reputation, there are plenty of affordable affordable West Palm Beach hotels you can book, like the DoubleTree by Hilton West Palm Beach.

Family Fun in Panama City

If you’re taking a family vacation, Panama City is an excellent Florida beach destination. Try to book one of the Panama City hotels near Front Beach Road, like the Hampton Inn Panama City Beach. Walk to the nearby Gulf World Marine Park, WonderWorks science museum, and plenty of mini golf courses and go-kart tracks. Take a day trip to enjoy the incredible beach of Shell Island, or stay at the local Panama City Beach, which is a hotspot for a lot of partying vacationers from all over the US. For a truly unique experience, swim with dolphins at Water Planet!

Take the Beach Walk at Clearwater Beach

You can’t visit Clearwater Beach in Florida without taking a stroll down the highly rated Beach Walk, with its unique sands, beautiful ocean scenery, and breathtaking sunsets. For a more low-key tanning and bathing experience, get away from Clearwater Beach and head to Sand Key Park, or take a day off from the sun and check out the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. If you want to get a little more active on your vacation, Clearwater Beach offers everything from kayaking and canoeing to waterskiing and jet skiing in the area. Get your water workout in the morning, and then head to one of the local wineries for a tasting and a relaxing afternoon. Book one of the Clearwater Beach hotels near the ocean, like the Beachview Hotel, for the best local experience.

Nature and History in Sarasota

Sarasota is full of history, parks, and fun and quirky attractions. The Ringling museum, which includes one art and two circus museums, is definitely worth a visit, as is the historic and architecturally stunning Ca d’Zan Mansion which housed the prominent local Ringling family. You will find plenty to do outdoors, as you can walk by the ocean at South Lido Park, test your endurance on the Legacy Trail, or admire the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Inland hotels in Sarasota, like Baymont Inn & Suites Sarasota, are more budget friendly, so relax a little further from the ocean. Finish your stay with a drive through Myakka River State Park.
