It’s only a little islet, off Kanoni in Corfu. You could walk around it in 10 minutes, but it’s still worth the €2.50 for the boat ride across. The only building is what Gerald Durrell called a ‘ … matchbox size church … ‘ and the island’s sole inhabitant in the 1930s was:
‘ … an elderly and extremely verminous monk …’
No monks today, though, The only other person I saw was … wouldn’t you know it? … the man at the souvenir shop, which is adjacent to the church.
