A Brand New Day

Taken during a North Atlantic crossing aboard the Allure of the Seas, where I worked for 5 months.

This picture symbolizes those moments when your camera captures something you weren’t expecting it to capture. It is in those moments of spontaneity when we learn so much about fate. I happened to be in the right place at the right time when this photo was captured. Luckily, it captured things in just the right way.

The picture was taken between the Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco.

From the time I was barely old enough to walk until now, adventure has been my forte. From the time I thought it would be a good idea to roll my little inflatable buggy off the stone steps in the garage until the time I decided to take a journey to a rural village in China, I have fearlessly pursued new journeys because it's one of the only things that makes me 110% happy. Growing up, I was taken on many family trips, which often consisted of weekend trips to San Jose Family Camp or the historical, Pinecrest Lake in California. My idea of fun, much to my Mom's displeasure, was to find the place where I could experience that euphoric sensation that only adventure and travel can evoke. I was always scaling the sides of rocky mountain walls or trudging through rushing rivers with nothing more than a bathing suit and a little sunscreen on my face and back. It all started when I was a kid...As I've grown, my love for travel has only continued to grow and to flourish. From the trip I took to Germany in 2005 to see the pope at World Youth Day in Cologne to the trip I took to Italy with my Dad in 2007, every experience has taught me more and more about myself. One might say that my identity has been shaped through the experiences I have had overseas. As a young adult, I have experienced some marvelous things including a trip to a rural village in China, 7 months at sea as a "Entertainment Host" aboard two of Royal Caribbean's luxurious ships, and 10 months of teaching English at a university in China. These are the experiences that make me who I am. Cheers!
