Dominik & Mika: sugar, water and glucose – II

“When we create customized candies, the first thing we do is draw the project on paper.

Now we’re making candies for a restaurant called ‘VLAAR’. Every candy will have the word ‘VLAAR’ written on the inside. It’s not hard at all. We make candies who can contain up to 14 characters.

The candies for the restaurant will have four colors: grey with a white border for the writing, transparent red, olive green, and white for the candy. The candy’s flavor will be strawberry and rosemary.

In 2003, Mika and I were about to graduate as architect and communication expert respectively, but then we decided to go to Spain, to Barcelona. In our Spanish class we met two Australian guys who worked at the Papabubble in Barcelona. We got very curious.

When we graduated, we went back to Barcelona and learned how to make candies. Back in Amsterdam, we opened our shop in August 2005.

We also provide packaging in small bags or jars for any occasion: fairs, weddings, baptisms and so on”.
