“I was born in Pulau Ubin, I’m 79 and I have seven children. I used to work in the quarry business on the island.
In the Malay language, “Pulau Ubin” means granite Island. When the quarries were closed, my business was able to carry on thanks to the Marine Coffee Shop, my restaurant.
I was always very passionate about the community, and in my life I received many prizes, certificates and medals for my dedicated voluntary service to the community. I met some of the most important political and cultural representatives of the country”.
