“I’m C.K. Chu and I teach Tai Chi Chuan in New York City. Tai Chi Chuan is one of the most popular martial arts in the world, one of the most valuable treasures in Chinese culture, useful both for health and for self-defense. It derives from the Taoist philosophy of life, a sort of law for the earth and human beings.
It has different levels: in the beginning it focuses on breathing and coordination, strengthening the body, so the slower the better; later on it’s used for fighting and self-defense, increasing the speed.
We do free morning classes in the park during the summer for five months, seven days a week”.
