The Blue Lagoon has always been a high bucket list item for me and the experience was just as amazing, as I thought it would be. There has always seemed to be something so magical and mystical about it! That crystal clear, turquoise glowing water, surrounded by mountains and black sand in photos is breathtaking.
When I planned my trip to Iceland to see The Northern Lights and the Blue Lagoon, I always figured that if I don’t get to actually see the lights, at best, I can experience the magical Blue Lagoon! So I booked it for my first day in Iceland because I really couldn’t wait any longer to see it.
The weather was terrible this day. It was pouring rain with high winds, but that didn’t stop me or the rest of hundreds of people who visited the lagoon that day.
The rain was absolutely crazy outside and so were the winds! But that didn’t stop me or the rest of hundreds of people who visited the lagoon that day. This was gonna be one of two things, a very bad experience or the best of it’s kind.
I was in a bikini at 30’F degree weather, in the rain! But the water temperature is 37-40°C (98-104°F), year-round.
The moment I stepped foot into the water, I was in heaven! It was AMAZING!!! The water was very warm and I was ecstatic! It was seriously one of the coolest things I have ever done! It was raining and it was fun!
Here is what my incredible experience at the Blue Lagoon was like.
