After extensive renovations for more than ten years, the Rijksmuseum (het Rijksmuseum) has once again established itself as one of the main tourist attractions in Amsterdam. Situated on the Museumplein in Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum shares a prime location with other Amsterdam gems like the Concertgebouw, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk museum (featured in previous blog). At the time of my visit, there was an incredible art installation called the Lotus Dome by Daan Roosegaarde, which is also featured in the below video.
The Rijksmuseum building is really great, with an intriguing bicycle tunnel intersecting the middle of the building. Must been seen and experienced to be believed.
Insider tip: With a MuseumKaart you can go right on in and don't need to get a Rijksmuseum ticket.
