Every afternoon in Tangkahan an elephant conservation camp 3 hours west of Medan on the island of Sumatra, the elephants take a bath in the rivers of the Leuser Ecosystem. I noticed a toddler bathing in the river next to one of the big male elephants. The toddlers mum was just off to the side and the toddler kept looking over to the elephant every few seconds. I noticed the opportunity for a great composition and took position and waited for the right expression. After one a minute, I had it.
My love of photography in the form of landscapes, wildlife, conservation, film making and time-lapse photography have all become my main form of artistic expression and I hope to use this expression to show you how beautiful the world around us is.
